The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 64 regencies/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 exceeding the national average, currently recorded at 0.03 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Saturday, December 31, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 exceeding 0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week are Teluk Bintuni, Buton Tengah, Gayo Lues, Aceh Singkil, and Mamuju Tengah, with respective rates of 1.45, 1.07, 1.04, 0.79, and 0.71 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows a decrease in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most regencies/cities outside Java. Six regencies/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 than previously, while 12 regencies/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 include Teluk Bintuni, Buton Tengah, and Gayo Lues, with respective rates of 1.45, 1.07, and 1.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
