The United States has the highest number of Omicron cases, with 1.37 million.

The Omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of the Covid-19 virus continues to spread globally, reaching 4.31 million cases by Wednesday, July 20, 2022. The United States ranks first, with a weekly growth of 3.77 percent in Omicron cases. GISAID recorded 1.37 million Omicron cases in the country. Daily cases in this region increased by 0.45 percent compared to the previous day.

The United Kingdom follows, with a weekly growth of 0.82 percent in Omicron cases. Daily Omicron cases in the country increased by 0.15 percent compared to the previous day, totaling 1.24 million cases.

Furthermore, the number of Omicron cases in Germany increased by 8.58 percent to 363,680 cases compared to the previous week; in Denmark, cases rose by 1.42 percent to 259,500 cases; and in France, there were 164,220 cases (an 8.08 percent increase).

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the number of Omicron cases recorded to date is 16,026, a 2.32 percent increase compared to the previous day. Since it was first monitored, Omicron cases in Indonesia have continued to rise.

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) urges everyone to remain vigilant in the face of the global surge in Omicron cases. The public is urged to consistently adhere to the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands.
