Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 138 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Saturday, November 12, 2022, shows a national average of 128.78 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per week, are Bandung Barat (944 people), Batam City (934 people), Gresik (915 people), Deli Serdang (873 people), and Sukoharjo (850 people).
Bandung Barat ranks first, with 944 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 12.61 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Batam City. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, 934 people were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 13.28 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Furthermore, 915 people were tested per week in Gresik, 873 in Deli Serdang, and 850 in Sukoharjo.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 159 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 167 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of people tested per week include Batam City, Deli Serdang, and Pekanbaru City, with 934, 873, and 810 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
