Based on national Covid-19 data, 134 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen testing above the national average. Data as of Friday, September 30, 2022, shows a national average of 139.77 specimens tested per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens tested per week, are Kubu Raya (992 specimens), Pemalang (991 specimens), Wonosobo (977 specimens), Blora (951 specimens), and Bengkulu Utara (871 specimens).
Kubu Raya ranks first. With a population of 594,260, 992 specimens were tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.01 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Pemalang. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 991 specimens were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 4.26 percent, an increase compared to the previous week.
Then, Wonosobo, with a population of 792,570, recorded 977 specimens tested per week; Blora recorded 951 specimens per week; and Bengkulu Utara recorded 871 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 132 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimens tested than before. Meanwhile, 159 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens tested include Kubu Raya, Bengkulu Utara, and Tarakan City, with 992, 871, and 855 specimens tested, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
