Based on national Covid-19 data, 82 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Tuesday, September 13, 2022, the national average was 17.12 percent. This achievement is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, subsequently reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting with the highest percentage of weekly testing, are Balikpapan City (411.34%), Mimika (309.82%), Sukabumi City (293.92%), Surakarta City (222.78%), and Semarang City (220.13%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, its weekly testing percentage is 411.34 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.96 percent, lower than the previous week.
Next is Mimika. With a population of 221,810, its weekly testing percentage is 309.82 percent in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. Its positive rate is 6.34 percent, higher than the previous week.
Sukabumi City recorded 293.92 percent testing; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, recorded 222.78 percent; and Semarang City recorded 220.13 percent weekly testing.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 163 regencies/cities actively reporting higher weekly testing percentages than before. Meanwhile, 196 other regencies/cities recorded lower weekly testing percentages compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Jayapura City, with percentages of 411.34 percent, 309.82 percent, and 184.09 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
