Based on national Covid-19 data, 139 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. As of Tuesday, November 1, 2022, the national average was 149.52 specimens per week.
The top five, starting with the highest, are Lahat, Brebes, Kediri City, Banjarmasin City, and Sukoharjo, with 971, 945, 943, 943, and 919 specimens per week, respectively.
Lahat ranks first. With a population of 419,860, it recorded 971 specimens tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.16 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Brebes follows. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 945 specimens were tested per week. The positive rate in this region is 10.47 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Next, Kediri City and Banjarmasin City (population 719,580) each recorded 943 specimens tested per week, while Sukoharjo (population 903,750) recorded 919 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron variant's impact, national Covid-19 data shows that 131 regencies/cities actively reported a higher number of daily specimens tested than before. Meanwhile, 153 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens tested compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of specimens tested include Lahat (971 specimens), Banjarmasin City (943 specimens), and Padang City (918 specimens).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
