Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 116 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Sunday, November 6, 2022, the national average testing rate was 9.11 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Semarang City (224.16%), Metro City (173.14%), Semarang (151.89%), Ciamis (137.11%), and South Jakarta City (104%).
Semarang City ranks first. The weekly percentage of people tested there was recorded at 224.16 percent. The latest positive rate is 7.68 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Metro City. The population of this region is recorded at 174,260. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested was 173.14 percent. The positive rate in this region was recorded at 1.32 percent, or higher than the previous week's ratio.
Then, Semarang recorded 151.89 percent testing, Ciamis 137.11 percent, and South Jakarta City recorded 104 percent for the weekly percentage of people tested.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 156 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily weekly percentage of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 165 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly percentage of people tested compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly percentage of people tested include Metro City, Pakpak Bharat, and Balikpapan City, with weekly percentages of 173.14 percent, 100 percent, and 95.72 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
