Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 168 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Monday, July 4, 2022, shows a national average of 205.22 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Cimahi (971 people), Sukoharjo (967 people), Kudus (960 people), Situbondo (959 people), and Bojonegoro (954 people).
Cimahi ranks first. With a population of 610,490, 971 people were tested in the past week. The latest positive rate is 3.3 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Sukoharjo. With a population of 903,750, 967 people were tested in the past week. The positive rate is 1.55 percent, also an increase from the previous week.
In Kudus, 960 people were tested last week. Situbondo, with a population of 692,140, recorded 959 tests last week, while Bojonegoro recorded 954 tests.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 103 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the past week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 264 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests last week include South Lampung, Padang City, and Jambi City, with 930, 897, and 885 tests respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
