The top five, starting with the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Manado City (976 specimens), Sragen (933 specimens), Kubu Raya (929 specimens), South Lampung (900 specimens), and Pasuruan (884 specimens).
Manado City ranks first. With a population of 433,880, 976 specimens were examined per week. The latest positive rate is 9.04 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Sragen. With a population of 890,090, 933 specimens were examined per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 1.7 percent, also lower than the previous week's ratio.
Specimen examinations in Kubu Raya totaled 929 per week, South Lampung 900 per week, and Pasuruan 884 per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 134 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported daily specimen examinations exceeding previous figures. Meanwhile, 172 other regencies/cities recorded lower specimen examination numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest number of specimen examinations include Manado City, Kubu Raya, and South Lampung, with 976, 929, and 900 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
