The Indonesian government is accelerating its national vaccination program as one of the efforts to overcome the Covid-19 situation in the country. As of Friday, July 23, 2021, at 12:00 WIB, 17,154,145 people in Indonesia have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
This number is equivalent to 39.2% of the total recipients of the first dose, which is 43,717,254 people. The details are: 1,589,573 healthcare workers received the first dose and 1,443,441 received the second dose. These numbers reach 108.2% and 98.3% of the target, respectively.
A total of 24,458,675 public officials, or 141.2% of the target, have also received the first dose of the corona vaccine. Of this number, 10,099,229 people, or 58.3% of the target, have received the second dose.
Furthermore, the number of elderly people who have received the Covid-19 vaccine is 4,745,847 for the first dose and 3,018,196 for the second dose. This number is only equivalent to 22% and 14% of the target, respectively.
The number of members of the general public who have received the first dose is 12,300,771 people, or 8.7% of the target. 2,593,235 of them, or 1.8% of the target, have also received the second dose of the corona vaccine.
Meanwhile, 622,388 children aged 12-17 years have received the first dose, or 2.3% of the target. Of this number, only 44 have received the second dose. This is because child vaccination only started at the end of June 2021.
Although vaccination is underway, the public is urged to remain disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap. This is important to prevent the spread of corona.
