The top five, starting from the highest, are Kudus, Lamongan, Tanjung Pinang City, Magetan, and Pasuruan, with weekly specimen numbers of 908, 904, 902, 891, and 888 respectively.
Kudus is ranked first. With a population of 893,350, the number of specimens examined there is recorded at 908 per week. The latest positive rate is 0.48 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Lamongan. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of specimens examined was 904 per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.88 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Then, Tanjung Pinang City recorded 902 specimens per week, Magetan with a population of 637,110 recorded 891 specimens per week, and Pasuruan recorded 888 specimens per week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, 124 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily specimen examinations than before. Meanwhile, 165 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Tanjung Pinang City, Tarakan City, and Banjarbaru City, with 902, 800, and 739 specimens respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
