Real estate consultant Knight Frank compiled data on countries receiving the highest real estate and property investment capital. This capital was invested by private investors.
Private investors were the most active investors in global commercial real estate and property in 2022. This is evident from their estimated investment of US$454.8 billion, or Rp6,799.26 trillion globally (assuming an exchange rate of Rp14,950 per US$, May 25, 2023).
Second were state institutions or agencies, with US$440.1 billion. Significantly lower was the general public, at US$122.4 billion.
The country with the highest real estate investment was the United States, at US$328.3 billion, or Rp4,908.08 trillion. Despite this being the largest amount, it represents a 3% decrease from 2021.
Substantially lower, the UK and Germany each received equivalent investment values of US$14.6 billion, or Rp218.27 trillion. Slightly below, Canada received US$14.5 billion, or Rp216.77 trillion, from private investors.
France followed Canada with accumulated investments of US$12.2 billion, or Rp182.39 trillion.
In Asia, Japan received US$8.6 billion, or Rp128.57 trillion in investment. South Korea received US$7.4 billion, or Rp110.63 trillion, and China received US$6.8 billion, or Rp101.66 trillion.

The *Attitudes Survey*, developed for *The Wealth Report 2023*, analyzed responses from over 500 private bankers, wealth advisors, and family offices representing over US$2.5 trillion in combined wealth. The survey was conducted during November 2022.
