The top five, starting from the highest, are Bandung Barat, Kediri City, Wonosobo, Kubu Raya, and Pasuruan, with weekly specimen numbers of 991, 989, 971, 952, and 949, respectively.
Bandung Barat ranks first, with 991 specimens tested per week. The latest positive rate is 8.13 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Kediri City, with a population of 292,930. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 989 specimens were tested per week. The positive rate is 10.26 percent, higher than the previous week's ratio.
Specimen examinations in Wonosobo totaled 971 per week, 952 in Kubu Raya, and 949 in Pasuruan.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 27 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 31 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Kubu Raya, Ambon City, and Gianyar, with 952, 880, and 874 specimens, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
