Today's COVID-19 Provincial Data Update: West Java Reports the Highest Increase (Thursday, March 3, 2022)

Indonesia recorded an additional 37,259 COVID-19 cases today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 5.67 million as of Thursday, March 3, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are West Java, Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, and Yogyakarta.

1. West Java recorded an additional 7,645 cases

West Java ranks first. The increase in cases is recorded at 7,645, a 0.75% increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 1.02 million. With this addition, the total number of cases in West Java is now 1.02 million.

In addition to recording the highest number of new cases, West Java also recorded 24 deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths in West Java during the COVID-19 pandemic has reached 15,160.

The trend of case development in this region over the past week has decreased. This can be seen from the lower confirmation rate per 100,000 population compared to the previous week.

Similarly, the positive rate in this region is lower than before. According to the Ministry of Health, the Bed Occupancy Rate (BOR) for COVID-19 hospitals in this province is recorded at 44%.

2. Jakarta recorded an additional 4,669 cases

3. East Java recorded an additional 4,135 cases

4. Central Java recorded an additional 3,244 cases
