Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 149 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, August 31, 2022, shows a national average of 170.97 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest number of people tested per week, are Indramayu (999 people), Sukabumi (984 people), Yogyakarta City (976 people), Jepara (973 people), and Sukabumi City (949 people).
Indramayu ranks first, with 999 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 2.1 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Sukabumi, with 984 people tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.64 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Yogyakarta City recorded 976 tests per week, while Jepara recorded 973 tests per week. Sukabumi City, with a population of 331,750, recorded 949 Covid-19 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 119 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 249 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some areas with the highest number of tests per week include Samarinda City (933 people), Bandar Lampung City (919 people), and Jambi City (731 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
