Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest Number of Individuals Tested (Saturday, January 7, 2023)

Unwilling to be caught off guard and continuing efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19, currently 148 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests above the national average. Data as of Saturday, January 7, 2023, shows the national average testing rate is 0.42 people per 1000 population/week.

The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Central Jakarta City, South Jakarta City, East Jakarta City, and West Jakarta City, with respective figures of 4.91 people per 1000 population/week, 4.3 people per 1000 population/week, 4.02 people per 1000 population/week, 3.26 people per 1000 population/week, and 2.77 people per 1000 population/week.

Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 649,420, the number of people tested here is recorded at 4.91 per 1000 population/week. The latest positive rate is 0.28 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.

Next is Central Jakarta City. The population in this region is recorded at 914,530. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested is 4.3 per 1000 population/week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 2.31 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.

Furthermore, Covid-19 testing in South Jakarta City recorded 4.02 people per 1000 population/week, East Jakarta City recorded 3.26 people per 1000 population/week, and West Jakarta City recorded 2.77 people per 1000 population/week.

Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 207 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher daily number of people tested than before.
