Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 114 regencies/cities aggressively conducted specimen examinations exceeding the national average. Data from Monday, January 30, 2023, shows a national average of 87.28 specimens per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Gresik, Cirebon City, Garut, Mimika, and Karawang, with weekly specimen numbers of 906, 842, 795, 724, and 695 respectively.
Gresik ranks first, with 906 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.57 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Cirebon City, with a population of 322,250. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 842 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate is 0.41 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Following this, 795 specimens were examined per week in Garut, 724 in Mimika, and 695 in Karawang.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, one regency/city in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 37 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, regions with the highest number of specimens examined include Mimika, Deli Serdang, and Simalungun, with 724, 688, and 624 specimens examined respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
