Based on national Covid-19 data, 146 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Friday, November 4, 2022, shows a national average of 0.42 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per 1,000 people per week, are: South Jakarta (4.89 people), Central Jakarta (4.86 people), Balikpapan (4.6 people), West Jakarta (3.52 people), and East Jakarta (3.3 people).
South Jakarta ranks first, with 4.89 people tested per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 17.91 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 4.86 people per 1,000 were tested per week. The positive rate is 20.51 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Balikpapan, with a population of 646,020, recorded 4.6 Covid-19 tests per 1,000 people per week. West Jakarta recorded 3.52 tests per 1,000 people per week, and East Jakarta recorded 3.3 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 136 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 160 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan (4.6 people), Badung (2.52 people), and Mimika (2.2 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
