The majority of COVID-19 deaths in Aceh are among those over 60 years old.

According to the Ministry of Health's Covid-19 patient data profile, the majority of Covid-19 deaths in Aceh province were among residents over 60 years old, accounting for 49 percent. This is followed by the 46-59 age group at 35.1 percent, 12.1 percent aged 31-45 years, 2.6 percent aged 19-30 years, 0.8 percent aged 6-18 years, and 0.5 percent in the toddler category.

As of Thursday, September 16, 2021, the death toll in Aceh province reached 1,713 (4.7% of the total Covid-19 infected population). Compared to other provinces, this province's death rate is relatively high, ranking among the top five.

The total cumulative weekly death rate in Aceh has shown an increase over the past two weeks, albeit by a small margin of 0.1 points. This is indicated by a higher ratio compared to the previous week, which stood at 4.66 percent.

During treatment, the deceased Covid-19 patients in this region were recorded as having comorbidities. The most prevalent were: 6.5 percent with a history of diabetes mellitus, 6.5 percent with hypertension, 2.5 percent with heart disease, 1.9 percent with immune disorders, and 1.6 percent with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Initial examinations of Covid-19 patients in this region reported primary symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough, weakness, fever, and a history of fever.

The latest cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Aceh has reached 36,185. The number of recovered residents in this province is 28,993 (80.4 percent).
