Based on national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 82 regencies/cities aggressively conducted weekly testing exceeding the national average. As of Wednesday, September 14, 2022, the national average testing rate was recorded at 17.11 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Balikpapan City (428.42%), Mimika (299.11%), Sukabumi City (273.86%), Surakarta City (223.75%), and Semarang City (213.7%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly percentage of people tested is 428.42 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.42 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mimika. The population of this region is 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 299.11 percent. The positive rate in this region is 5.67 percent, an increase compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Sukabumi City, with a population of 331,750, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 273.86 percent; Surakarta City, with a population of 519,800, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 223.75 percent; and Semarang City recorded a weekly testing percentage of 213.7 percent.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 170 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 186 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Jayapura City, with weekly testing percentages of 428.42 percent, 299.11 percent, and 179.87 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
