The top five, starting from the highest weekly percentage of people tested, are Balikpapan City (486.65%), Gunungsitoli City (339.46%), Garut Regency (250.45%), Purwakarta Regency (245.46%), and Klungkung Regency (189.56%).
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, its weekly testing percentage is recorded at 486.65 percent. The latest positive rate is 0.54 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Gunungsitoli City. The population of this region is recorded at 147,940. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage reached 339.46 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.2 percent, having decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Garut Regency recorded 250.45 percent testing, Purwakarta Regency 245.46 percent, and Klungkung Regency 189.56 percent in weekly testing percentage.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 129 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 217 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan City, Gunungsitoli City, and Klungkung Regency, with weekly testing percentages of 486.65 percent, 339.46 percent, and 189.56 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
