Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 163 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Saturday, May 28, 2022, shows a national average of 1.05 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Balikpapan, and Berau, with respective figures of 9.3, 7.21, 7.05, 6.78, and 5.48 tests per 1,000 people per week.
Badung ranks first. With a population of 727,950, the number of people tested here is recorded at 9.3 per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 0.56 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is South Jakarta. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested was 7.21 per 1,000 people per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.18 percent, also higher than the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Covid-19 testing in Central Jakarta recorded 7.05 per 1,000 people per week, Balikpapan recorded 6.78 per 1,000 people per week, and Berau recorded 5.48 per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, there are 63 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively reported a higher daily number of people tested than before. Meanwhile, 305 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of people tested compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of people tested include Badung, Balikpapan, and Berau, with 9.3, 6.78, and 5.48 tests per 1,000 people respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
