Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 145 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data as of Tuesday, September 6, 2022, shows a national average of 0.57 tests per 1,000 people per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Mimika, West Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with respective figures of 6.36, 6.18, 5.76, 4.46, and 4.29 tests per 1,000 people per week.
South Jakarta ranks first, with 6.36 tests per 1,000 people per week. The latest positive rate is 10.28 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta. The population is 913,720. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 6.18 tests per 1,000 people per week were conducted. The positive rate is 12.82 percent, also down from the previous week.
Then, Mimika, with a population of 221,810, recorded 5.76 tests per 1,000 people per week; West Jakarta recorded 4.46 tests per 1,000 people per week; and South Tangerang recorded 4.29 tests per 1,000 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 140 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 186 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Mimika, Balikpapan City, and Badung, with 5.76, 4.05, and 3.81 tests per 1,000 people per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
