The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 58 districts/cities with a number of deaths due to Covid-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.03 per 100,000 population per week, data as of Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 0.6 per 100,000 population per week, are Gianyar, North Gorontalo, Bangli, Central Mamuju, and Bintan, with respective values of 1.14 per 100,000 population per week, 0.89 per 100,000 population per week, 0.87 per 100,000 population per week, 0.71 per 100,000 population per week, and 0.6 per 100,000 population per week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the number of deaths due to Covid-19 in most districts/cities outside Java. Five districts/cities recorded a higher daily number of deaths due to Covid-19 than previously, while three districts/cities recorded a lower number of deaths due to Covid-19.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths include Gianyar, North Gorontalo, and Bangli, with respective death rates of 1.14 per 100,000 population per week, 0.89 per 100,000 population per week, and 0.87 per 100,000 population per week.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
