Rice is one of the oldest food commodities in the world and is still consumed to this day.
The majority of Asian people consume rice as their primary source of carbohydrates. Rice is also a highly strategic trading commodity because it is a staple food for a significant portion of the world's population.
According to a report by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), global rice production reached 510.31 million metric tons in February 2021/2022. This figure represents a 0.09% increase compared to the previous month and a 0.56% increase compared to the previous year.
Here are the top 10 largest rice-producing countries in the world as of February 2021/2022:

This massive rice production in China is also due to its strong agricultural culture. Although China is currently undergoing mass industrialization, the government has not neglected its agricultural sector.
Meanwhile, Indonesia ranks fourth as the largest rice producer, producing 35.4 million metric tons. Indonesia's position is below Bangladesh, which produces 35.85 million metric tons of rice.
