A BPS survey in 2024 shows that 16.46% of wetland rice farming households in Indonesia feel the impact of climate change.

Furthermore, 28.51% of upland rice farming households feel a similar impact.

BPS also found that wetland rice and upland rice affected by climate change have lower productivity.

Wetland rice unaffected by climate change has a productivity of 52.49 quintals/hectare. Meanwhile, for those affected, productivity is 46.86 quintals/hectare.

In the upland rice group, productivity for those unaffected by climate change reaches 43.48 quintals/hectare. Whereas for those affected, productivity is only 37.37 quintals/hectare.
