10 Indonesian Provinces with the Highest Garlic Prices (January 6, 2022)

Based on data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center (PIHPS), the average price of medium-sized garlic in traditional markets was Rp 30,150 per kilogram (kg) on January 6, 2022. Ten provinces recorded the highest garlic prices in Indonesia.

Provinces with the highest garlic prices are mainly located in eastern Indonesia. Uneven supply of this commodity has resulted in prices significantly above the national average.

In West Papua's traditional markets, the average price of medium-sized garlic was Rp 45,000 per kg. This price is 49.25% higher than the national average. In Wosi Manokwari market, garlic is sold at Rp 40,000 per kg, while in Sanggeng Market it is sold at Rp 50,000 per kg.

The next highest garlic price in traditional markets was in North Maluku, reaching Rp 42,500 per kg. This was followed by Gorontalo at Rp 38,150 per kg, then Papua at Rp 37,900 per kg, and DKI Jakarta at Rp 34,500 per kg.

Other provinces with the highest garlic prices include Maluku at Rp 32,500 per kg, followed by Southeast Sulawesi at Rp 32,500 per kg, North Sulawesi at Rp 31,750 per kg, and Central Sulawesi and Riau Islands at Rp 31,500 per kg and Rp 31,200 per kg, respectively.
