Transforming for Sustainability: Driving Impact and Value through Supply Chain Action
The Centre for Impact Investing and Practices (CIIP), a non-profit entity established by Temasek Trust, embarked on this report to study the role of Southeast Asian MSMEs in global supply chains.
The study focuses on four key sectors: consumer goods, food and beverage, electrical and electronics, and tourism. Drawing insights from over 3,500 MSMEs and more than 85 industry stakeholders across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam, the report offers a comprehensive view of the sustainability landscape for MSMEs. Katadata Insight Center contributed to the Indonesia portion of the study.
By deepening our understanding of the challenges MSMEs face, the report highlights critical barriers and emerging opportunities to support their sustainability journey, offering actionable recommendations for ecosystem actors. It aims to strengthen business and supply chain resilience amid shifting global regulations and trade dynamics.
The findings point to promising investment opportunities and proven business models that can accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices among MSMEs. As Southeast Asia remains well-positioned to advance supply chain sustainability, now is the time to take action to ensure that these MSMEs are equipped to succeed in the evolving supply chain landscape.
