Drone Emprit: Election Fraud Issues Go Viral on Twitter

According to Drone Emprit founder Ismail Fahmi, numerous conversations on Twitter/X regarding alleged 2024 election fraud occurred between February 14th and 23rd, 2024.

During this period, he found 964,645 mentions on Twitter/X containing the keywords "kecurangan" (fraud) and "curang" (cheating).

"This shows public concern, and the issue of fraud significantly colors the election," said Ismail in a virtual discussion with Jaga Pemilu on Saturday, February 24th, 2024.

Of these mentions, the majority (75%) had negative connotations. The most prevalent narratives included accusations of structured, systematic, and massive election fraud; vote count manipulation; suppression of the right to vote; and the erosion of democracy.

"If true, this is crucial input for the KPU (General Elections Commission) and Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency) to conduct audits and forensics, proving and demonstrating that the system is not as suspected," said Ismail.

Conversely, 17% of the conversations expressed positive sentiment, such as calls for the public to monitor and prove fraud according to regulations, and narratives suggesting that all candidates engaged in electoral fraud, urging the public to remain objective.

The remaining 8% of conversations exhibited neutral sentiment.
