The Indonesian National Asset Management Institute (LMAN) allocated Rp14.39 trillion (approximately US$940 million) in 2023 for land acquisition for national strategic projects (PSN) in the toll road sector.
Of this amount, five toll road sections absorbed the largest land acquisition budget, all located on the island of Java.
First is the Solo-Yogyakarta-Kulonprogo Toll Road, which spent Rp3.4 trillion (approximately US$222 million) on land acquisition in 2023.
The Semarang-Demak Toll Road is second, with a similar total budget of Rp2.69 trillion (approximately US$175 million).
"This is quite substantial (land acquisition for the Semarang-Demak Toll Road), one of the factors being the relatively high land prices for compensation," said Rustanto, Director of Land Procurement and Funding at LMAN, in a virtual press conference on Tuesday (January 23, 2024).
Then there's the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road, which consumed a similar budget of Rp2.49 trillion (approximately US$162 million), the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu Toll Road Rp1.06 trillion (approximately US$70 million), and the Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap Toll Road Rp914 billion (approximately US$60 million).
From 2017 to 2023, LMAN allocated a land acquisition budget for the toll road sector for 53 PSN totaling Rp131.88 trillion (approximately US$8.6 billion). However, the realization was only 79%, or Rp104.27 trillion (approximately US$6.8 billion).
Rustanto also mentioned several toll road projects with significant funding needs in 2024, including:
* Solo-Yogyakarta-Kulonprogo Toll Road
* Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road
* Japek 2 Selatan Toll Road
* Gedebage-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap Toll Road
* Depok-Antasari Toll Road
* Semarang-Demak Toll Road
* Rengat-Pekanbaru Toll Road
