PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN)'s total debt amounted to Rp631.6 trillion in 2021. This figure decreased by 2.7% compared to the previous year, which was Rp649.1 trillion.
In detail, PLN's total debt consisted of long-term liabilities reaching Rp485.1 trillion, a decrease of 2.8% from Rp499.5 trillion in the previous year.
Short-term liabilities were recorded at Rp146.5 trillion last year. This amount decreased by 2.1% from Rp149.6 trillion in the previous year.
Further detailing, long-term liabilities were dominated by bonds and ijarah sukuk amounting to Rp187.7 trillion. Then, bank loans amounted to Rp139 trillion and compensation liabilities amounted to Rp48.1 trillion.
Meanwhile, the largest short-term liabilities originated from third-party trade payables of Rp27.3 trillion. In addition, there were bank loans of Rp26.8 trillion, related-party debt of Rp20.6 trillion, and other liabilities of Rp20.5 trillion.
In terms of equity, the company's equity in 2021 was recorded at Rp981.6 trillion. This amount increased by 4.4% from Rp939.8 trillion in 2020.
PLN did record positive performance throughout last year. This is also evident from operating revenue, which increased by 6.6% to Rp368.17 trillion in 2021.
Furthermore, the company's net profit also surged by 119% from Rp5.99 trillion in 2020 to Rp13.17 trillion in 2021.
