The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and PT Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad (JMT) will increase toll road tariffs on the Jakarta-Bogor-Ciawi (Jagorawi) toll road, effective August 20, 2023.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR, Endra S Atmadidjaja, stated that the Jagorawi toll tariff increase is not significant, only Rp500 for each vehicle class.
"The adjustment is only an increase of Rp500. This is due to inflation, and it's the right of the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT), according to the Toll Road Concession Agreement (PPJT). So, I think the increase isn't significant," said Endra when met at the Ministry of PUPR building, Central Jakarta, as reported by Kompas.com on Wednesday (August 9, 2023).
Quoting the Instagram page @jasamargametropolitan, the BUJT for the Jagorawi toll road, this toll tariff increase is regulated in the Minister of PUPR Decree Number 854/KPTS/M/2023 and Minister of PUPR Decree Number 855/KPTS/M/2023, signed on July 31, 2023.
"The implementation of this new tariff considers the balance between the ability of toll road users to pay, conducive investment returns, fulfillment of Minimum Service Standards (SPM), and improved services on the Jagorawi Toll Road section," wrote Jasamarga Metropolitan on its Instagram account on Tuesday (August 8, 2023).
Based on this new policy, here are the details of the new Jagorawi toll road tariffs with the nearest amount:
* Class I: from Rp7,000 to Rp7,500
* Class II: from Rp11,500 to Rp12,000
* Class III: from Rp11,500 to Rp12,000
* Class IV: from Rp16,000 to Rp17,000
* Class V: from Rp16,000 to Rp17,000
The Jagorawi toll road is approximately 59 km long, stretching from Jakarta to Bogor. This toll road is the first toll road in Indonesia, construction of which began in 1973 and was inaugurated in 1978 by President Soeharto.
