Electric vehicle producer Tesla recorded 343,830 electric vehicle deliveries in Q3 2022. This figure represents a year-on-year (YoY) increase of approximately 42.49% compared to Q3 2021.
Specifically, deliveries of the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y totaled 325,158 units. This means that deliveries of these models accounted for 94.56% of total deliveries.
Meanwhile, deliveries of the Tesla Model S and Model X totaled only 18,672 units, or just 5.43%.
On a quarterly basis, Tesla's vehicle deliveries in Q3 2022 also increased compared to Q2 2022, which reached 254,695 units.
Meanwhile, production of Elon Musk's electric vehicles reached 365,923 units in Q3 2022. This production figure increased by 53.86% year-on-year (YoY) and by 41.51% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) compared to Q2 2022.
Following Tesla's release of its electric vehicle delivery figures, the company's stock reportedly fell. This is because the number of vehicle deliveries was lower than FactSet analysts' expectations of 364,660 units.
Furthermore, according to CNBC International, Tesla also faced difficulties at its new factories in Germany and Texas due to executive changes and soaring commodity prices in the third quarter of 2022.
