Kurious-KIC Survey: Majority of Residents Approve of Whoosh Expansion Throughout Indonesia

According to a Kurious-Katadata Insight Center (KIC) survey, a majority of respondents (42.7%) agree that the Whoosh high-speed rail should be built throughout Indonesia to improve intercity connectivity.
However, 28.6% of respondents believe that Whoosh construction should focus on specific areas requiring better connectivity. Another 27.9% believe that not all regions in Indonesia need Whoosh due to geographical or economic reasons. Respondents from Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.2% to 3.7%.
Data collection was conducted from November 6-9, 2023, using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI), with a margin of error of approximately 2.5% and a 95% confidence level.
