The data shows that the domestic hybrid car market is still dominated by Toyota and Suzuki.
Combining all brands, the total wholesale volume of hybrid car sales in Indonesia from January to March 2023 reached 6,418 units.
This figure represents an approximate 890% increase compared to January-March 2022, when wholesale sales totaled only 646 units.
Sales grew significantly despite a lack of government incentives. At the end of 2022, the government had considered offering price discounts to encourage hybrid car purchases, but these plans were ultimately abandoned.
Currently, the government only provides incentives in the form of a 10% Value Added Tax (VAT) discount, specifically for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) with a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of at least 40%.
