PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) recorded 20.9 million commuter line (KRL) passengers during the 2024 Lebaran (Eid al-Fitr) transportation period, from March 31 to April 21, 2024.
“The total number of commuter line users across all KAI Commuter operating areas from March 31 to April 21, 2024, reached 20,960,944,” said KCI Director of Operations and Marketing Broer Rizal at a press conference, as reported by Antara on Tuesday (April 23, 2024).
The highest volume of passengers came from the Jabodetabek KRL, reaching 17.89 million passengers.
Broer detailed the five stations with the most users during the 2024 Lebaran period: Bogor Station, Tanah Abang Station, Citayam Station, Bekasi Station, and Depok Baru Station.
The next highest number of KRL users was on the Bandung line, with a total of 1.70 million users. This was followed by the Surabaya KRL with 878,076 passengers, and the Yogyakarta-Solo KRL with 501,065 passengers.
Meanwhile, the Merak KRL recorded 287,758 passengers, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train (Basoetta KRL) 152,001 passengers, and the Prambanan Ekspres (Prameks) KRL 75,554 passengers.
“During the 21 days of the Lebaran Transportation Post, everything ran smoothly in the Jabodetabek, Merak, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya areas,” said Broer.
During the 2024 Lebaran period, KCI earned Rp88 billion in revenue, a 13% increase compared to the previous year's Lebaran period.
“Total revenue reached Rp88 billion across all KCI operations during the 2024 Lebaran homecoming and return flow. Specifically for Jabodetabek, the turnover was Rp64 billion,” Broer explained.
