Blok M - City Hall was the busiest Transjakarta route in 2020.

A report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that throughout 2020, the Transjakarta fleet transported 126.9 million passengers. This figure is down 52.1% compared to the previous year, which reached 264.6 million passengers. This decrease occurred due to social restrictions during the pandemic.

The Blok M – Kota route was the busiest Transjakarta route, transporting 13.1 million passengers, or 10.34% of the total Transjakarta passengers. The next busiest route was Pinang Ranti – Pluit, carrying 9.5 million passengers (7.5%).

Meanwhile, the route with the lowest number of passengers was Penjaringan – Tanjung Priok with 1.9 million passengers. Above that was the Pulogebang – Kampung Melayu route with 2.04 million passengers.

The number of Transjakarta passengers throughout 2020 fluctuated. The highest number of passengers occurred in January with 13,377 passengers. The lowest number occurred in May with 2,282 passengers.

For information, Transjakarta began operating in 2004. By the end of 2020, 13 Transjakarta corridors were operational, served by a fleet of 2,725 buses.
