Motorcycle Ratio in Jambi Highest Nationally in 2018

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a motorcycle ratio of 1,393.4 per 1,000 people in Jambi in 2018. This means there were 1,393 motorcycles for every 1,000 residents in Jambi, making it the province with the highest motorcycle ratio per 1,000 inhabitants in Indonesia.

Provinces with the next highest motorcycle ratios per 1,000 inhabitants were Yogyakarta (1,105.9), Bali (908.9), Central Sulawesi (712.9), and Bangka Belitung Islands (667.4). Following these were East Kalimantan (662), Riau Islands (592.8), South Kalimantan (570.1), Aceh (563.8), and South Sumatra (555.1).

Nationally, the number of motorcycles reached 106.7 million units in 2018, increasing to 112.8 million units the following year. Motorcycles constitute a significantly larger proportion than other vehicles, reaching 81.78%.
