Air transportation is one of the alternative modes of transportation in Indonesia. Indonesia's archipelagic geography, stretching from Sabang to Merauke across 1.9 million square kilometers, makes air travel a vital mode of transportation for the people. Therefore, ahead of long holidays and school breaks, airfare prices soar due to the increase in air passengers.
The Central Bureau of Statistics recorded an increase of 6.85% in domestic air passengers in October 2018, reaching 8.11 million people, and a 7.85% growth compared to October of the previous year. Similarly, cumulatively from January to October of that year, there was a 6.98% growth, reaching 78.63 million people compared to the same period in 2017.
