The number of motor vehicles in Balikpapan City, East Kalimantan, reached 807,920 units in April 2025.
Based on data from the Indonesian National Police's Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) Electronic Registration and Identification (ERI) system on Monday (April 14th), the number of motorcycles in Balikpapan City was 630,750 units.
Furthermore, the number of passenger cars was 111,030 units, followed by 62,170 units of goods vehicles, 2,635 buses, and 1,088 special vehicles.
Among the regencies/cities in the province, Samarinda City had the highest number of motor vehicles (1.03 million units), while Mahakam Hulu Regency had the lowest (338 units).
