Germany is the European Union's largest exporter to Indonesia.

Indonesia's imports from the European Union reached US$11.1 billion in 2021, a 9% increase from 2020. The largest source of these imports was Germany.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's imports from Germany reached US$3.19 billion throughout 2021.

This figure represents a 5.41% growth compared to the previous year, which reached only US$3.02 billion. This constitutes 28.73% of Indonesia's total imports from the European Union and 2.14% of Indonesia's total imports last year.

Indonesia's imports from Germany included, among others, other machinery for specific industries valued at US$208.02 million, other chemical products at US$144.02 million, and medical equipment and supplies at US$115.61 million.

Indonesia's next largest imports from the European Union came from Italy, totaling US$1.73 billion last year. This represents an 11.02% increase from the previous year, accounting for 15.58% of Indonesia's total imports from the European Union.

Next was France, with imports valued at US$1.28 billion in 2021. This represents a 6.1% decrease, accounting for 11.5% of Indonesia's total imports from the European Union.

Following this was the Netherlands, with imports valued at US$846.1 million. This represents a 5.2% increase, accounting for 7.63% of Indonesia's total imports from the European Union.

Then came Belgium, with imports valued at US$767.7 million in 2021. This represents a 45.92% growth from the previous year, accounting for 6.92% of Indonesia's total imports from the European Union.
