In September 2022, Indonesia recorded a non-oil and gas trade surplus exceeding US$1 billion with three partner countries: the United States (US), India, and the Philippines.
Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the value of non-oil and gas trade with the US reached US$2.97 billion in September 2022. Details show that Indonesia's exports to the US amounted to US$2.11 billion, while imports from the US were only US$856.3 million.
As a result, Indonesia achieved a trade surplus with the US of US$1.26 billion in September 2022. Indonesia's largest non-oil and gas exports to the US last month were:
* Electrical machinery and equipment (HS 85): US$261.7 million
* Footwear (HS 64): US$220.8 million
* Animal or vegetable fats and oils (HS 15): US$207.1 million
Meanwhile, Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade with India reached US$2.28 billion last month. Specifically, Indonesia's exports to India were valued at US$1.75 billion, while imports from India were only US$529.3 million. Thus, Indonesia-India trade recorded a surplus of US$1.22 billion.
Indonesia's largest non-oil and gas exports to India in September 2022 were:
* Animal or vegetable fats and oils (HS 15): US$577.8 million
* Mineral fuels (HS 27): US$563.9 million
* Iron and steel (HS 72): US$109.4 million
Finally, Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade with the Philippines reached US$1.41 billion in September 2022. This comprised Indonesian exports to the Philippines of US$1.27 billion and imports from the Philippines of only US$141 million.
Therefore, Indonesia's non-oil and gas trade with the Philippines recorded a surplus of US$1.13 billion. Indonesia's largest non-oil and gas exports to the Philippines last month were:
* Mineral fuels (HS 27): US$434.4 million
* Vehicles and parts (HS 87): US$271.4 million
* Metal ores, slag, and ash (HS 26): US$127.4 million
Overall, Indonesia's exports in September 2022 reached US$24.8 billion, while imports amounted to US$19.81 billion. Consequently, Indonesia's trade balance showed a total surplus of US$4.99 billion.
