China is Indonesia's largest export destination for liquefied natural gas (LNG). According to BP data, LNG exports from Indonesia to China reached 7.36 billion cubic meters in 2020. This figure accounts for 43.88% of Indonesia's total LNG exports of 16.78 billion cubic meters.
South Korea is in second place with LNG exports reaching 3.7 billion cubic meters. Following are Japan and Taiwan, with LNG exports of 3.03 billion cubic meters and 1.6 billion cubic meters, respectively.
Other Indonesian LNG export destinations include Singapore (0.37 billion cubic meters), Mexico (0.35 billion cubic meters), Thailand (0.29 billion cubic feet), and Pakistan (0.09 billion cubic meters).
Indonesia is one of the world's largest LNG exporters, with a volume of 16.78 billion cubic meters last year. This figure represents 3.4% of total global LNG exports, which reached 487.9 billion cubic meters.
This places Indonesia seventh in the world. The country with the largest global LNG exports is Australia, at 106.23 billion cubic meters (21.77%).
