East Kalimantan's Export Value Increased by 11.42% in July 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the value of exports from East Kalimantan Province in July 2021 reached US$1.83 billion, up 11.42% compared to June 2021. Compared to the same period the previous year, it increased by 94.7%.

By sector, mining and others were the largest contributors to East Kalimantan's export value, totaling US$1.4 billion (77.46%) in July 2021. The next largest contributing sector was the processing industry at US$342.7 million (18.76%), followed by oil and gas at US$69 million (3.78%).

Based on destination country, Taiwan was the largest destination for East Kalimantan's oil and gas exports, with a value of US$45.05 million. The largest destination for non-oil and gas exports was China, with a value of US$689.39 million.

As of July 2021, East Kalimantan was among the top four provinces contributing to national exports, along with West Java, East Java, and Riau Islands. East Kalimantan contributed 8.8% to national exports, which totaled 50.84%.

Meanwhile, the largest export contribution came from West Java at 15.43%, followed by East Java at 10.72% and Riau at 9.02%.
