According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the value of national crude oil exports reached US$2.79 billion in 2021. This is double the value of the previous year, which was US$1.39 billion.
The largest crude oil export value originated from East Java, amounting to US$1.44 billion in 2021. This value increased by 55.7% from 2020, which was US$926.4 million.
In 2021, East Java contributed 51.59% to the total value of national crude oil exports.
Riau was the province with the second-largest crude oil export value, reaching US$1.14 billion in 2021, a surge of 302% from the previous year's US$284.4 million.
Next is the Riau Islands, with export value reaching US$170 million in 2021. This value also increased from the previous year's US$153.9 million.
Meanwhile, the value of crude oil exports from other provinces combined was only recorded at US$39.4 million in 2021. This figure increased by 58.2% from the previous year's US$24.9 million.
