South Sumatra Province recorded a total export volume of 5.14 million tons in November 2024. However, for exports categorized under SITC (Standard International Trade Classification) code 63 (wood and cork products), the province saw a decrease to 27.86 million tons in November 2024.
This decline in export value contributed to a decrease in foreign exchange reserves and the total export value, which had previously been on an upward trend for the past five months. According to Bank Indonesia (BI) records, exports from the province in the same period the previous year totaled 15.22 million tons.
Sumatera Selatan's customs import documents recorded 19 export commodity groups. These commodities are grouped into 2-digit SITC codes. The commodity group with the highest export volume was SITC code 32 (coal, coke, and briquettes).
