10 Happiest Countries in the World in 2024: Is Indonesia on the List?

According to the *World Happiness Report 2024*, Finland has been named the happiest country in the world this year. The country has held the top position for seven consecutive years.

This country, nicknamed the "Land of a Thousand Lakes," achieved an average happiness score of 7.741 points in 2024.

Nordic and European countries continue to dominate the list of the world's happiest countries. Denmark ranks second with an average happiness score of 7.583 points, followed by Iceland and Sweden with average scores of 7.525 and 7.344 points respectively.

So, what about Indonesia's position?

Indonesia ranked 80th in the list of the world's happiest countries in 2024, with an average score of 5.568 points.

Afghanistan ranked last with an average index score of 1.721 points.

This ranking is based on a global survey of 143 countries over the past three years (2021-2023). The index score is measured based on six factors: GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
