Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's textile industry export volume from January to May 2024 reached 666.8 thousand tons, up 6.16% compared to January-May last year (year-on-year/yoy).
However, during this period, the export value decreased by 2.66% (yoy) to US$1.49 billion.
This decline in export value was not uniform. The weakening textile industry sub-sectors in January-May 2024 were only spun yarn, woven fabrics, and other textile goods.
Meanwhile, the export value of man-made staple fiber, man-made filament yarn/strip, knitted fabrics, textile fibers, embroidered/lace fabrics, and silk strengthened.

* Spun yarn: down 14.04% (yoy)
* Woven fabrics: down 10.36% (yoy)
* Other textile goods: down 9.28% (yoy)
