West Java Contributed the Largest Export Value in the First Half of 2021

According to a report by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), West Java was the largest contributor to national exports in the first half of 2021, reaching US$16.08 billion or 15.63% of total national exports.

The next largest contributor was East Java, with a value of US$11.2 billion or 10.89%. This was followed by Riau at US$9.12 billion or 8.86%.

Exports from East Kalimantan were recorded at US$9.04 billion or 8.79%, while exports from Riau Islands reached US$7.17 billion or 6.97%.

Cumulatively, national exports totaled US$102.87 billion from January to June 2021, a 34.78% increase compared to the same period the previous year. Specifically, non-oil and gas exports amounted to US$97.06 billion in the first six months of the year, while oil and gas exports reached US$5.82 billion.

By sector, the mining sector recorded a value of US$14,041.5 million from January to June 2021. The manufacturing industry's export value reached US$81,065.6 million, while the agricultural sector's exports amounted to US$1,950.9 million.

China was the main destination for national exports, with a value of US$21.3 billion. It was followed by the United States and Japan, with export values of US$11,530.9 million and US$7,268.4 million, respectively.
