Foreign Tourist Visits to Indonesia Decreased in October 2025

According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) report, there were 1.33 million foreign tourist (wisman) visits to Indonesia in October 2025.

This number decreased by 4.83% month-to-month (mtm). However, year-on-year (yoy), the number of visits increased by 11.19% compared to October 2024.

The majority of foreign tourists in October 2025 entered Indonesia through main entry points, totaling 1.17 million visits. Meanwhile, 152.78 thousand visits were through border entry points.

Based on the mode of transportation, 954.22 thousand foreign tourists entered Indonesia by air; 180.52 thousand visits were by sea; and 40.01 thousand visits were by land.

In October 2025, the largest number of foreign tourists came from Malaysia (17.13%), followed by foreign tourists from Australia (11.9%), Singapore (9.4%), China (8.8%), and Timor Leste (6.5%).

The average length of stay for foreign tourists in Indonesia in October 2025 was 9.80 nights, an increase compared to October 2024, when the duration was only 7.28 nights.

Cumulatively, the number of foreign tourist visits to Indonesia from January-October 2025 reached 12.76 million people. This figure grew by 10.32% (cumulative-to-cumulative/ctc) compared to the same period last year.

This achievement is the highest record since 2020, but it is still lower than before the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw 13.44 million visits in January-October 2019.
